I got to know this Maggie Mae dress pattern by Shwin & Shwin through Mary Jo's blog: all this for them! When I saw her version of this dress I was really impressed. What a cute little girl with such a adorable little dress. 'I also want to make this pattern' was my very first reaction and when I started thinking about fabric combinations, I thought: it would be nice to show two totally different results made with one pattern'. So 'one pattern, two styles' is a new concept presented here! Also check out 'All This For Them' because I got the opportunity to guest post at her blog today! Thanks a lot. :)
Later this week Mary Jo will also present her version of my Charles' pants on my blog. I'm really curious to see what she's about to create at this moment. Make sure to check it later this week! I'll be happy to show Belgium her work!
When my version of the dress was finished, I was really happy with the result. (Sorry to say so…) I love the pattern sooooo much. It's en easy project with a stunning result. The instructions are very clear so any sewist should be able to make this beauty!
I hope you are convinced enough to just buy the pattern? I surely recommend this one if your looking for a new project!
Before I forget to mention: I bought this two lovely fabrics at Veritas (from Free Spirit). The buttons are from Strass.
Now let's go over to May Jo's creation: she made the dress for the Project Run&Play. A version that can be a playing dress but will be worn at parties as well...
Congratulations to her for this lovely dress. I'm not the only one that loves her version: Mary Jo was featured at Sugar Bee Crafts & Ginger Snap Crafts! Well done...
